Awakened during the Cycle of Noon in 1324 AE, Iekko's youthful will to explore, paired with a strange feeling of disconnection to what should have been called his home, led him to leave the Grove to wander Tyria only a few weeks after his awakening. His travels took him to the Shiverpeaks among other destinations, where he had his first contact with the Norn, and also met his lifelong companion Kohlrabi, the raven (who was named by a drunk norn incidentally).

With the resurgence of Zhaitan in 1325 AE, Iekko's life took a different path. More unwilling than not, steered by the Dream, he first took a post within the Vigil and later shared the title of Pact Commander with Maëliss, a Sylvari who would soon become his closest friend for many years to come.

While Maëliss and Iekko managed to defeat Zhaitan unscathed, the jungle dragon would soon prove to be their greatest and most traumatic struggle to overcome so far.

Following Mordremoth's defeat Iekko quietly withdrew himself from what was left of the Pact. Injured, he made his way back to the Shiverpeaks and settled down in the forests of Wayfarer Foothills, secluded from everyone else.

The only comfort he would find were the faint, soothing whispers among the trees.

Iekko had spent weeks on his own when Hjartvar – a young Norn huntsman – stumbled upon him and decided to take the troubled Sylvari in. Reluctant to accept help but too worn out and exhausted to muster the will to protest, Iekko spent the following months in the company of his newly found Norn friend. With Hjartvar's help and the guidance of his friend Joelsine, a kind-hearted raven shaman, Iekko very slowly started healing... the forest's soothing whispers ever by his side.

While Maëliss took on the rising threat of the White Mantle, Iekko joined their old friends Rox and Braham on their journey. Eventually the small group reunited with Maëliss in the far north.

While Iekko had never been a person of many words to begin with, it quickly became obvious that the past months had changed him. Even more withdrawn than before and seemingly disconnected from his surroundings at all times, getting any sort of reaction out of him proved nearly impossible. The only thing still driving him to action was the uncomfortable urgency of the Dream's call.

Over the following years the two Sylvari and their group of friends faced and bested the White Mantle, the god of war Balthasar, and the elder dragon Kralkatorrik.

Veiju awakened with the dream to become a great engineer and inventor. Unfortunately, following an "incident" involving the Inquest when he was still a little sapling, Veiju's mentor decided it would be safer for him (and everyone else around) to learn the ways of a warrior and become a warden in the Grove instead. Unhappy with the situation Veiju decided to leave the Grove in secret and started exploring the world.

His innocent naivety often got him into trouble, but has also led him to many great places. His travels led him to Skrittsburgh, where he made friends with the Skritt, and eventually led him all the way to the Black Citadel, where he got to know the charr and pact engineer Aoife Cinderpelt, who has since become his closest friend.

Veiju spent some time living at Aoife's home, before his adventurous spirit drove him off to other places around Tyria again – and, unfortunately for him – right into the arms of Nightmare Courtier and viscount Rivalàer. Easily trusting as he is, Veiju fell for all the sweet lies Rivalàer told him, making him believe the two of them would spend their lives as happy lovers. It wasn't until the day Rivalàer finally dragged him right into the Nightmare Court's base that Veiju realized how he had been toyed with all the time – and what trouble he had gotten himself into this time.

After weeks of not hearing any news of him, his friend Aoife set out to find him and managed to rescue him from the court's fangs together with a small group of Grove Wardens. While alive and back safe at Aoife's place in the Black Citadel, Veiju had paid a high price. Not only did his time at the court leave many deep mental scars which needed to heal, but also his body suffered many injuries and fractures; one of them entirely destroying the lower half of his left leg.

Even though the call of Mordremoth had made recovery difficult, the jungle dragon's eventual defeat lifted a great burden off Veiju's shoulders and slowly allowed him to get better and find back to his enthusiastic spirit. Aoife and him put their engineering skills to great use and crafted a prothesis for his leg, which he gradually got used to.

It is also thanks to Aoife that Veiju got to meet his friend Oylbhe, a fellow sylvari engineer with a big fascination for Charr machinery and large explosions. Seeing these two together usually means trouble...

Ever since Finnéacht awakened from the dream he has been a true sunshine to be around.

Soon he discovered that he holds a big fascination not only for life and all living creatures, but also that which makes the cycle complete: death. He decided to take a more scholarly path for some time, and began studying in the field of necromancy. With his knowledge of life and death, Finnéacht eventually became an excellent mender. During his time studying he met the Charr researcher and botanist Tahvo Ochrebark, and both became good friends.

Finnéacht spent the next years taking care of other sylvari – both in the Grove and while travelling through the lands – healing their battle wounds, providing emotional support, and trying to help everyone he came across as good as he can.

After a while of wandering the world, going through sometimes more and sometimes less enjoyable times, Finnéacht returned to the priory and his friend Tahvo. The good times these two mutually gentle souls spent together quickly made them realize that there is more than just friendly feelings between them, and so they decided to settle down together in a peaceful home with a small but beautiful garden.

Even after his terminally ill partner's death, Finnéacht continues to carefully tend all their plants and flowers.

Overpowered by masses of water, unable to reach the surface, unable to breathe... Disturbed by what it had shown him, Njálur decided to cut himself off the Dream very early on, becoming one of the Soundless. He soon turned his back on the Grove and Caledon Forest.

Aimless wandering eventually led him to the Shiverpeak Mountains, all the way north to Frostgorge Sound. There, he not only forcefully faced his trauma, but also learned to control his fears by becoming proficient in the use of water- and ice-based magic. Of all places, Njálur found a welcoming home in the Kodan sanctuary Deep And Troubled Waters, spending years living together with the Kodan, accepting their culture and believes.

One day, while travelling a bit further from the sanctuary, Njálur ran into a group of Nightmare courtiers that managed to overwhelm and capture him. The court had tortured and almost killed him when one of the courtiers, Viscount Rivalàer, started expressing interest in Njálur and put an end to the torture. Njálur stayed with the Nightmare Court, and while he neither opposed nor especially supported the Court's ideals, he was utterly devoted to Rivalàer.

The Court's abusive nature would eventually take its toll on Njálur's health. He had served as Rivalàer's bodyguard for over 5 years when, triggered by a series of horrid events, Njálur made a wearisome attempt at fleeing the Court. Though barely, he succeeded, and made his way back north to his home that he hadn't seen in such a long time.

Njálur has a difficult time coping with everything he has done and lived through; trauma leaving him permanently unable to speak. The distraction of everyday work with the Kodan has kept him alive so far.

Many Asura can decorate themselves with titles, shower in academical accomplishments and boast about their achievements – Tvekks is not one of them.

Dreaming of a successful career, like a lot of other Asura, Tvekks started studying at a very young age. He quickly discovered his passion for everything time and space related, and while his technical skills could have made him an amazing scientist, his goals and dreams were often too farfetched. Completely and utterly out of place within the College of Dynamics ("But Dynamics is family tradition!"), noone ever really accepted any of his project drafts, and all that his ambitions got him was a subpar degree. Being the family disappointment with no real outlook on the future, and no real money in his hands, he spent the following months living in the streets.

Tvekks had never been a moralizer, but he never thought that joining the Inquest with their questionable working methods would ever become an option to him. As so often it turned out he was wrong about what he thought, and a conveniently friendly Inquest recruiter, combined with the stinging pain of an empty stomach were enough to convince Tvekks. Even though his first jobs in the Inquest weren't exactly glamorous, they at least meant a roof over his head and an appropriate amount of food. Over the years, Tvekks became an assistant researcher working in the Thaumanova Reactor in Metrica Province.

After the Thaumanova Reactor disaster in 1324 AE – which, thanks to a lucky coincidence, he only witnessed from afar – Tvekks started doubting if what he was doing with his life was really right. The dragon energy, ley energy – it all started to scare him.

Upon request of his partner Neljje, both of them joined a Dry Top based group of Inquest working closely with the Aetherblades. Seeing all the destruction and chaos the group was causing under Scarlet Briar's command only supported Tvekks' doubts; and while his partner's fascination for the ley energy grew stronger and stronger, Tvekks' growing fear of everything all this mess might cause made him want to do only one thing: Quit the Inquest and all its business for good. Even if it meant leaving his partner behind as well.

Not long after, Scarlet's forces were defeated. And Tvekks – he decided to flee before anything worse could happen. He didn't get very far however, as a group of Peacemakers picked him up (or rather stomped him into the ground), and, suspicious of him despite his claims of wanting no more business with the Aetherblades and Inquest, decided to keep him at close range until he could prove his intentions to be harmless. As a result of this, Tvekks, more or less willingly, spent the next months doing social work.

Once he had proven himself to be trustworthy enough, Tvekks was sent back to Rata Sum to assist another Asura in her laboratoy. Little did he know that this Asura, Lelaa, was one of the researchers accompanying the Peacemakers that interrupted his attempt to escape the Inquest; and on top of this also happened to be that very Inquest-hating individual who had stomped him right into the ground.

Tvekks has been working as a laboratory assistant for Lelaa ever since, and while he is theoretically skilled at what he does, his clumsy personality often drives his superior up the wall.

An eager to learn and sometimes overly inquisitive Asura, Neljje realized at a fairly young age that in order to get answers to the countless questions life poses he would have to join the Inquest – after all that's where actual results come from when no other krewe dares. Neljje managed to be recruited already during his years of study at the College of Synergetics, and following his graduation he immediately started working as a researcher within Metrica Province's Thaumanova Reactor.

Barely a year had passed when the Inquest's experiments led to what would later be known as the Thaumanova Reactor disaster, and Neljje found himself caught in the center of the explosion. Petrified, awestruck... admiring of the sight and intensity of this unfamiliar energy unfolding and tearing apart everything right before his eyes.

Miraculously, he survived.

In the following months Neljje started obsessively researching everything and all that could possibly have any ties to the ley lines and ley energy. Unsatisfied with the lack of suitable research material available within the newly built Infinite Coil Reactor that most survivors had relocated to, Neljje urged his partner Tvekks to join him in a small Dry Top based Inquest group conducting further studies on the ley lines across Tyria.

As time went on, the effect the severe ley energy exposure had on Neljje's psyche became more and more apparent. The ever growing obsession to not only understand but also to control this energy was slowly but surely driving him mad. Once so upbeat and supportive of his peers, Neljje had become prone to sudden mood swings and random acts of selfish cruelty, if only they furthered his ambitions in any way.

With Central Tyria's forces advancing into the Heart of Maguuma, the promising discovery of a large ley line hub not far from an abandoned asuran city lured Neljje deep into the jungle as well. Completely and utterly captivated by this hostile place and its local fauna brimming over with ley energy, Neljje made the jungle's most tangled depths his new home.

Even though his single-minded obsession – or passion as he prefers to call it himself – has given him the reputation of a "somewhat insane eccentric" among other Inquest members, valuable insights gained due to his research have nonetheless earned him a fair amount of respect.

While he takes occasional trips to potentially interesting sites outside of the jungle, Neljje has so far always returned to his little base near Rata Novus as though possessed by the very place itself.
